Adams County now has two Site Certified Parks; the Decatur Industrial Park and the Monroe Business Park.  The certified status was announced Wednesday by the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership.  This site certification increases a site selector's interest in a site as it lowers their risk level and accelerates development.  

"In Adams County, we understand the need to be fully prepared to be competitive; and in business today, time is money.  We are already recognizes for our quality workforce.  Now, because of the certification of these two community-owned parks are established to fit incoming business needs immediately." said Adams County Economic Development Corp. executive director Larry Macklin, who worked with Decatur and Monroe officials to make the designation a reality.

The Decatur Industrial Park is 62 acres just off of the intersection of US 27 and county road 450 North.

 

The  22 acre Monroe Business Park is located at the intersection of US 27 and SR 124.

In order to receive the Certified Site Ready designation, each site had to meet 15 stringent benchmarked standards that will ensure a potential customer that the site is prepared for an expedited development process, catering to the stringent time lines of prospect companies and significantly minimizing the risk involved in the development process.

The Certified Site Ready program was established in Northeast Indiana as part of a collaborative effort between the Northeast Indiana Foundation, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, 10 County Local Economic Development Organizations, and South Carolina based Strategic Development Group Inc.

The purpose of the program is to pro-actively prepare development ready sites to best meet the needs of site selectors and prospect companies in today's highly competitive global site selection market.

Northeast Indiana's Certified Site Ready program complements the Shovel Ready designation from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. and gives northeast Indiana communities another avenue for site certification.
